Dr Sarah Aitken is a specialist vascular surgeon at Strathfield Private and Concord Repatriation General Hospital, with interests in and endovascular surgery and a clinical academic at the University of Sydney. Her clinical practice is varied, with a interests around minimally invasive treatment options for vascular disease. She is passionate about improving surgical outcomes, with a focus upon ensuring that patients' concerns and needs remain central to clinical care.
Dr Aitken offers a wide range of arterial interventions including open and endovascular surgery, as well as venous operations such as laser varicose vein surgery and injection sclerotherapy. She is actively involved in clinical research especially related to the care of older patients with significant vascular disease.
Dr Aitken has been awarded a number of prestigious research grants, including the inaugural Royal Australian College of Surgeons Senior Lecturer Fellowship, has presented at numerous international conferences and serves on many committees with a focus on improving vascular surgical care.
