Dr. Gobind Bal is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with experience in joint replacement surgery and sports injuries. With a lifelong passion for both athletics and science, he was drawn to orthopaedics as a way to combine these interests to help others. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Bal underwent comprehensive orthopaedic surgical training through the NSW Northside Training Program, refining his expertise in joint replacement, arthroscopic surgery, trauma management, and sports injury treatment.

Dr Bal has completed his fellowships in:

  • Primary and complex joint replacement surgery
  • Adult and Paediatric knee
  • Joint reconstruction and replacement surgery using robotics

Interests

Joint replacement surgery (robotics, navigation and conventional): Performing procedures such as total hip and knee replacement to alleviate pain and improve mobility in patients with severe joint damage.

Sports related injuries: Including ligament tears, tendon injuries, and cartilage damage, often using minimally invasive techniques.

Fracture management:  Diagnosis and treatment of fractures, including complex fractures and traumatic injuries for adults and paediatrics.

Arthroscopic surgery: Performing minimally invasive procedures using an arthroscope to diagnose and treat joint conditions such as torn cartilage, ligament injuries, and meniscus repair.
