Dr Belinda Chan is a General Surgeon with interests in breast surgery, dedicated to providing the highest quality of patient care. Dr Chan was awarded a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney in 2002, following completion of a Bachelor degree in Medical Science. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2010.
Dr Chan has completed her Masters of Surgery by Research at the University of Sydney, investigating the genetic mutations in breast Phyllodes tumours. She works closely with a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled specialists based at the Strathfield Breast Centre to tailor the management plan of each individual patient. This includes expert advice from radiologists, pathologists, plastic reconstructive surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, breast care nurses, breast physicians, allied health professionals and researchers. She was also appointed as Clinical Surgical Superintendent at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for two years.
Her international experience includes specialist post-Fellowship training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in Singapore. She also visited the famous L’Institut du Sein in Paris, France, with a focus on oncoplastic breast surgery techniques.
